Help keep Magnuson Children's Garden beautiful and sustainable!
For over 15 years, Seattle Works volunteers have been a vital partner in keeping Magnuson Children's garden beautiful and sustainable, and we look forward to meeting and reuniting with more amazing Seatle Works volunteers in 2021! The Children's Garden Committee will be hosting small groups of stewardship volunteers on every 2nd Saturday of each month starting in March, and hopefully will also be able to resume our Free Family Garden Days soon.
You can help "wake up" the garden in March with easy and fun spring stewardship projects, such as weeding and mulching, planting, simple pruning, organic fertilizing, and more! In April, we'll be celebrating Earth Month with special garden projects. We'll be celebrating Endangered Species Day in May, International Pollinator Week in June, and International Youth Day in August. September and October will be our "put the garden to bed" events to wrap up the year's activities.
No matter which event you sign up for, you'll be helping the garden plants grow and thrive, and keeping it beautiful for the hundreds of families and kids who visit it throughout spring, summer, and fall. Magnuson Children's Garden Committee members and King Co. Master Gardeners are at every event to instruct and guide your efforts, and are also happy to answer any home gardening questions you may have. We provide all gloves and tools for adults and kids, as well as light refreshments, and free gardening resources to help you have success in your own backyard too!
