Southwest Seattle Historical Society- Docent at the Log House Museum
Interested in local history? Love meeting new people? Volunteer at the Log House Museum as a docent! As a docent, you will:
-Become more involved with the community and meet great people, both locally and around the world
-Talk to people about history and learn about their history
-Learn more about the rich history of the Southwest Seattle area
-Join an amazing group of volunteers and staff who care about the Duwamish Peninsula
This opportunity is great for:
-Retired folks looking to stay active
-Newcomers who want to learn more about their community
-Anyone interested in promoting and engaging with local history
-Greet museum visitors and make them feel welcome
-Learn about the history of the Duwamish Peninsula, our museum building, and our current exhibits so you can share this information with visitors. You will shadow an experienced docent for at least two shifts, and receive information about exhibits and the local area from staff.
-Handle gift shop sales
-Assist staff with opening or closing the museum
-Available at least once a month for a two hour shift between 12-4 pm Friday - Sunday
