| Family Friendly! Hot Project with Friends of Deadhorse Canyon |
Agency: Friends of Deadhorse Canyon/Taylor Creek
Description:
Friends of Deadhorse Canyon are dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of a thirty-seven acre ravine which is part of Lakeridge Park for the good of the community and the urban environment. Learn about a hidden gem of an urban hiking trail and help out. Volunteers will be removing invasive plants in preparation for planting native plants in the fall. This project helps make this area available to the entire community by preserving an area that is becoming rarer in our urban environment and providing the benefits that healthy forests give to us all. This project is done in partnership with Davidson College Alumni. Children as young as 12 are welcome at this project. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and have a signed minor child waiver (this can be provided to you by the project coordinator). Thank you to Expedia for sponsoring monthly family-friendly projects!
