Logistics

The Summit will be held September 9, 2009 at the University of Washington Husky Union Building Ballroom on the second floor. Registration will open at 7:30am, and a continental breakfast will be served. Lunch will be served mid-day, and the event will end at 5:00pm.

The UW Husky Union Building is located on the University of Washington Campus just north of Seattle.

Driving Directions to the HUB from I-5 and SR-520

  1. From I-5 north or southbound, take SR-520 east (exit 168B).
  2. From SR-520 east or westbound, take the Montlake Blvd NE exit.
  3. Turn north onto Montlake Blvd and continue north [toward Husky Stadium].
  4. Stay to the right as you cross Montlake Bridge, continue north on Montlake Blvd past Husky Stadium. (DO NOT take the NE Pacific St. fork to the left.)
  5. Once past Husky Stadium, move to the far left lane.
  6. After the third pedestrian underpass, you will notice a fork in the road and a traffic light. At the light, take the left fork onto 25th Ave NE.
  7. At the next traffic light, (before the sky ramp up NE 45th) turn left onto Pend Orielle Road and proceed up the hill.
  8. Stop at the gatehouse (Gate #3) for directions and to purchase a parking permit.

Parking at UW Seattle Campus
Parking permits can be purchased from one of the following conveniently located UW campus gatehouses:

  • NE 45th St and Memorial Way by the Burke Museum
  • the underground Central Plaza Garage at 15th Ave NE and NE 41st St.
  • on Stevens Way by Meany Hall
  • on Pend Oreille Rd. off of Montlake Ave NE
  • directly in front of Husky Stadium off Montlake Blvd. NE
  • and in front of the UWMC on Columbia Rd.

At the gatehouses, Traffic Guides will assign a parking location near the HUB. Gatehouses are staffed weekdays from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. At the gatehouse ask for disability parking and building access information as needed. Visitors parking is available in the Central Plaza Garage which can be entered from 15th Ave NE at NE 41st St. Download a wayfinding map for this garage.

The daily parking fee is $15/day between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Campus parking may be paid with cash or a Visa/Mastercard. Cheaper parking options are available daily in the large E1 lot north of the Husky Stadium off Montlake Blvd. NE. for a $7 fee (pay with quarters) for the day or $4.00 if paid with Husky Card Account debit. Also self-serve pay stations are located in several west campus lots (W2, W4, W6, W12 and W14); daytime rate is $3 per hour (maximim 2 hours); or, evenings after 4:00 pm, a flat fee of $5. Outlying east campus lots E4 and E3 northeast of the E1 lot off Clark Rd. are $3.00 (exact change only) per day.

Bus Service to the HUB
The HUB is a central point in many of the University District bus routes for Metro and Community Transit. The following bus routes have stops at the HUB:

Community Transit Routes: 810, 812, 821, 851, 855, 860, 870, 871, 880, 885

Disabled Guests
Upon entering campus at any gatehouse, a visitor who is mobility impaired should self-identify in order to be accommodated. Visitors will be assigned parking in a "disabled" area as close to the HUB as possible, usually N-22. Parking permits for disabled and wheelchair areas cost the same as for other UW parking areas.
