TEAM WORKS

[Looking for the list of projects each team has signed up for? Check it out!]

Team Works makes volunteering easy, educational and fun. It's a great way to learn more about the issues and organizations impacting our region, meet nice people and work with your peers to make Seattle a more vibrant community!

We will be opening up registration for the next round of Team Works soon! Projects will be the first Saturday of the month: March 6, April 3, May 1, and June 5. The kick-off will be February 25, at the Garage.

Registration is now open! Please email Kym if you have any questions.

How it works
For four months you'll volunteer with a set group of 15 people, one Saturday per month, at four different community organizations. Each month has a different theme: green spaces, learning spaces, healthy spaces and community faces.

Projects are a set Saturday of the month 10am-2pm, unless otherwise noted, and you'll be doing a variety of behind-the-scene projects like painting, cleaning, sorting and gardening. It's expected that you attend all of the projects. Can't make it to all four? Jump on some Hot Projects, our one-time commitments, instead.

All teams are lead by trained volunteer Team Captains who facilitate attendance, help manage projects, lead the group in reflection and plan social events

We'll start with a KICK-OFF where you'll meet everyone and pick up your t-shirt, and we'll end with a thank you party! Woot!

Still not sold? Check out our blog for project pictures and to read what some of our current Team Works participants have to say about why they joined.

Some notes on registration
Our registration system will offer you choices - you'll get to note preferences for which team you want to be on. You'll be able to see the Team Captain's name(s), the organizations where you'll be volunteering and the team's theme (new to Seattle, 20s, 30s, etc). Please put down your top three choices in case a team is full.

While some people sign up with someone they know, many participants sign up on their own and meet their teammates for the first time at the kick off. So if you're worried about not knowing anyone, don't be!

Teams are first come, first serve. Once a team reaches 15 people, it's full! If you are signing up with friends or you are very, very interested in a specific team, it's best to jump on it.

You'll be notified which team you are on when our teams are all full and will be connected via email to your Team Captain.

Team Works has a $35 registration fee. This helps cover the costs of running this fine program, plus you get a snazzy t-shirt, and an invitation to the kick off and our final post-project event.
