What's it all about?
Seattle Works Day is a fun and easy way to give back! You will be one of 1,500 people working hard in neighborhoods throughout the city. That's 5,000 hours of service in a single day!

Plus, because it's Seattle Works, we finish things off with a bang - a party at Seattle Center with food, drinks, and lots of fun people.

And it doesn't stop there! Not only will you enjoy a great day of service and celebration, but your contribution supports our year-round work to connect local organizations with enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers.

The point? Provide an easy, effective and fun way to support your community. And hopefully something that inspires YOU to keep the momentum going.

What does Seattle Works do?
Seattle Works informs, connects and inspires people in their 20s and 30s to take action in our community. Our programs focus on connecting volunteers, developing leaders and fostering electoral engagement. From one-time service projects to board training to dialogues with elected officials, we're here to get you connected - on Seattle Works Day, and all year long.

Seattle Works is a 501c nonprofit organization, federal tax id number 91-1416844.

How much does it cost to participate?
Individual registrations for the event are $30. Corporate sponsorship begins at $1,000 and includes participation plus exposure for your organization. Additional sponsorship levels are available, offering increased participation and recognition benefits.

Wait, I'm confused - am I paying to volunteer? Nope! Some organizations fundraise with breakfasts, some with 5ks, and some with cookies. We've combined our fundraiser with our mission, so that your participation not only supports the community organization you're volunteering with on Seattle Works Day, it keeps us going so we can offer volunteer opportunities year round.

How do I form a team?
It's easy! Just express your interest via our Team Captain survey and start recruiting! Check out our Team Captain toolkit for FAQs, sample text and more.

What if I don't have a team?
We have two "public teams", which are open to individual sign-ups (feel free to grab a friend or two to join you!). Teams are Singles in Seattle and Seattle Works Day Allstars.

Why neighborhoods?volunteers
What's the first thing you think of when you think of "neighborhood"? Is it a school? A community center? Or a tree-lined street with houses and a P-Patch on the corner? Maybe it's the neighborhood you live in, maybe it's your favorite neighborhood to jog through, maybe it's the neighborhood you tell your friends to make sure they see when they visit Seattle.

One of Mayor McGinn's priorities is neighborhoods, and we agree. We think that the diversity and vibrancy of Seattle's neighborhoods, and the community work that enhances those neighborhoods is something worth celebrating and supporting.

This Seattle Works Day, we invite you to help us contribute over 5000 hours of community service in one day to making Seattle's neighborhoods clean and healthy, and help neighborhood organizations provide services. You'll learn how the organization you're working with serves its neighborhood and how valuable your time (and the time of our volunteers year-round) is to improving our community.

How do I sign up?
There's three options: 1) form a team 2) join a team formed by someone you know 3) join a public team and meet new people. Registration is open now!
