Getting **it Done - Krista Rillo
Working for the past seven years with Community for Youth,
Krista directs endless energy toward creating innovative
ways to build the Steps Ahead mentoring program at Chief
Sealth High School.
Making Room at the Table
- Bob Santos
Known by his numerous mentees and many others as "Uncle
Bob", we are thrilled to recognize his leadership,
innovation in generating resources to build housing, health
care and other social services, and belief in the power of
reaching out to the next generation.
Outstanding Alumni Board Member
- Dan Brady
Dan's passion for politics was evident even in his years of
service as a board member in the early 90s. Over the past 15
years he's worked for elected officials, candidates for
public office and party organizations in the state of
Washington, leading up to his current work managing Mike
McGavick’s U.S. Senate race.
SWVOTY (Seattle Works
Volunteer of the Year) - Laura Pilcher
A Team Works Captain and a weekly volunteer at ROOTS Young
Adult Shelter, Laura has won the hearts of her teammates and
nonprofits across town thanks to her enthusiasm, commitment
and work ethic.
SWOOTY (Seattle Works
Organization of the Year) - KEXP
Not only does KEXP deliver top-notch radio and a host of
station-related volunteer opportunities, they're harnessing
their influence to build community through their Community
Partnerships Program. Each month a different nonprofit is
highlighted on air and receives the proceeds of a show at
High Dive featuring live music and a broadcast of KEXP's
Audioasis program.

Getting **it Done - Genevieve Aguilar
Genevieve exudes a warmth and dedication that inspires us
all to take action on the issues that are closest to our
hearts. For Genevieve, this means working tirelessly in the
areas of LGBT rights, immigration issues and reproductive
choice.
Making Room at the Table
- Mike Flynn
Who could be more fitting as the inaugural winner of "Making
Room at the Table" than the originator of our region's 40
Under 40 Awards? As the publisher of the Puget Sound
Business Journal and as a volunteer, Mike is an advocate who
welcomes the energy, ideas and innovations of the next
generation.
Outstanding Alumni Board Member
- Deborah Barge
Throughout Deborah's time as a volunteer and board member
with Seattle Works, she has chaired numerous events and
activities. Now as an alumni board member and auction
consultant, Deborah continues to give generously of her time
and resources.
SWVOTY (Seattle Works
Volunteer of the Year) -
Fred Northup
Fred is a local artist whose talents include filmmaking,
writing comedy and music. Seattle Works' emcee
extraordinaire, Fred has entertained and educated audiences
at Emerald Swank, Seattle Works Day and even this very
awards breakfast.

Chris Ackerley
Christopher Ackerley is a co-founder of Ackerley Partners,
LLC. Prior to founding Ackerley Partners in 2002, he was
President of The Ackerley Group where he oversaw the daily
operations of the national media and entertainment company.
Mr. Ackerley is involved with many civic and community
organizations. He currently serves on the board of
governors of the Business Alliance for the Fred Hutchinson
Cancer Research Center, the World Trade Center of Seattle,
Pacific Science Center, Downtown Seattle Association and the
First Tee of Seattle. In addition, he serves as
Vice-President of the Ginger and Barry Ackerley Foundation.
He is a member of the Northwest Chapter of the Young
Presidents’ Organization and in 2001, Chris was recognized
by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the region’s
most influential “40 under 40” business leaders.
